THE SKIRIAN HORSE<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n
The small breed of Skiros horses is today one of the rare breeds that exist in the world. It is one of the indigenous horse breeds of Greece that existed in antiquity in all of Greece. He managed to survive in Skiros, hence the name. Today, there are 260 Skirian horses throughout Greece, of which 187 are in Skiros and live in small herds. You can see them on visitable farms and estates of the island, as well as in our Unit.<\/span><\/h6>\n
THE GASTRONOMY OF SKIROS<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n
Skiros Greece holidays. The traditional cuisine of Skiros will impress you with its quality and simplicity. The main protagonist of most local dishes is the wild local goat, and the seafood from the trawls of the island (famous fishing spot) but also lobster. The famous lobster spaghetti is served almost everywhere and it is worth trying. It stands out from the cheeses the gruyere with a spicy taste. The fresh and dry mizithra and the sour cheese. A wonderful white soft cheese from goat's and sheep's milk with a slightly sour taste and yogurt texture.
